Hello SCLRC members,
My name is Roy West and I live in Foresthill CA. Like you, I and my family have been active in fighting against AB 885 and are in support of AB 268 by Ted Gaines (R Roseville).
I have been invited to speak at a hearing of the Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee on Tuesday April 13th in support of AB 268.
I have been told by a Gaines staffer that committee chairman Wesley Chesbro has vowed that AB 268 will not make it out of committee which is made up of five Democrats and two Republicans. In other words, they have already made up their minds.
Please spread this message to every one that you can and ask them to contact Chairman Chesbro, asking him to please allow AB 268 to get through committee and on the floor for a vote. This is not a partisan issue and all Californians have representatives in the Capitol and this issue should be allowed to be discussed in a regular session.
